Vases and sculptures

During the workshop we'll focus on techniques that let you build stable, solid objects of larger dimensions. We'll show you how to build the form properly, how to work with the construction so the piece holds its shape, and how to join the individual parts so the whole works both technically and aesthetically.

The workshop suits anyone who wants to expand their skills and stop shying away from bigger formats – whether you have basic experience with ceramics or you're looking for a new direction in your work.

During the workshop we create a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere – we light candles, play music and small refreshments are available too.

Part of the workshop is also guidance in finding your own expression and working with volume, proportion and surface. You'll have space to experiment and create to your own vision, whether you're drawn to organic shapes, minimalist objects or bold statement pieces.

If you're not sure about your own design, templates by FROMFRAN made for building vases will be available. You can use them to create your own object while learning the construction principles you'll then use in your own work too.

We'll work with up to 5 kinds of clay and every participant has up to 20 kg of material available, giving you plenty of room for truly generous creations. The maximum size of the finished piece is 40 × 40 cm.

The whole workshop is led by our experienced instructors, who have long specialised in working with large objects and will guide you through the entire process from the first idea to the finished piece.

Glazing is fully in our hands – you focus purely on the making itself and we'll take care of everything else. If your sculpture is going to serve as a vase, we'll adjust it to your brief so it's fully functional and suitable for use with water and flowers.

Finished vases can be shipped anywhere in the Czech Republic and across Europe, so you can have your piece conveniently delivered right to your door.

Cancellation policy and make-up sessions

For this workshop we are unable to offer a make-up session. Every place is reserved for you in advance, and once it's taken we can no longer offer it to anyone else.

For this reason the cancellation fee is 100 % of the course price. Please treat your booking as a final decision – it will help you avoid unnecessary complications.

Withdrawal from purchase:

If you purchase the course online, you have the legal right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of purchase and request a refund to your account.
